Plastic detection:
strengthening quality control in food production lines
In food production lines, different quality control equipment coexist and complement each other. Metal detectors are highly effective at detecting metallic particles, while X-ray systems are used to detect foreign bodies with significantly different densities. However, plastic foreign bodies fall outside the scope of these technologies: pieces of film, gloves, fragments of boxes, conveyor belts, aprons, safety glasses, machinery seals, etc. Other low-density foreign bodies, such as rope fragments, cardboard or splinters, may also go undetected.
INSPECTRA systems use vision and specialized artificial intelligence to inspect 100% of production, identifying plastic foreign objects and other visible anomalies at different points along the line before the product reaches the consumer:
- At the end of the production line: inspecting the top and bottom surfaces of packaged products
- Inside slicing machines: during the slicing process
- At the output of grinders, cutters and mixers: inspecting product masses
- Directly on frozen or fresh product blocks: during transportation
After more than 10 years working in the food industry, we understand the need to provide tailored plastic inspection solutions at different points along production lines.
There is no need to choose a single technology, but rather the right combination to achieve the exact level of safety and quality you need in your plant.
Have you identified where plastics or other foreign objects might appear on your production line?
